AGNP
The Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) focuses on the primary care of adults from adolescence through old age and across the health continuum. The approach to patient care emphasizes patient education/counseling, health promotion, disease prevention and management. NPs are qualified to diagnose medical problems, order treatments, perform advanced procedures, prescribe medications, and make referrals for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions within their scope of practice. The NPs role includes being a collaborative member of the health care team and as a primary health care provider.
